Constructing a Profile: Website Design
Website
I constructed a website design on Wix and it involves many aspects of work I have created as well as some additional text about myself in contacts and my main aspirations for the future, this website began on January and I have been continually working on it to this today until the deadline. I have giving the title of this website "Synchron Media" as that was the main idea for the brand name of the other projects I have created and it has been my name other social media platforms, the website consists of 3 pages and those are the main home screen which shows a variety of descriptions about myself and goes into details such as previous work, ambitions, how I've worked in a team before in projects and more to go along with it. The next was the Portfolio where I displayed new and old work that I made through out the year in the media course, while posting these videos of the work I made, I gave a description of when it was made and what I used to make it along with what the client wanted from the video I produced and finally there is an about and contact page where show the details of the business brand like including an email and education along with an about me part where I explain who I am and what I do.
Envisage
For my main idea for the website design, I wished to have a design that involved all of my projects and creations in one and how I managed to pull some of that off is that I chose the best work that I have made and put them all into one separate position with their own descriptive versions of their process and equipment. The way I envisioned the design in my and how I produced it had their differences, the color schemes were different from the original idea because from going from a techno like background to a desert like background was the right option and the techno background was removed mainly due to copywrite and replaced with a non-copywrited background with a unique design, the font was different from what I imagined as there wasn't really any well designed fonts but I had to make due with the regular designed font.
Production Log
17th January 2022: I began the first creation of my website by starting off with an already made design, with this I started with the first page and what I wanted the first page to be was a basic explanation about my experience in the media course with some other explanations aside from that. For explaining about experience, I started off with the basic explanation of who I am in that respected course and what I do in that course for clients and others, next was explaining what side of media I am most interested in and by saying that, I explained why the filming side was my particular favorite and involved talking about examples in my portfolio, finally I explained what skills I had developed during my times at the media course and by doing this I described what I do with those developed skills and also showed examples of what these skills can do.
31st January 2022: After going through my page a couple of times, it was decided that an upgrade was to be done; by doing this I removed the original background from the page and changed to a desert like background to avoid copywrite when submitting this website, what was also changed was the order of the pages in the website such as the home page became the portfolio and the portfolio became the home page and this was a good change because the home page had an extended amount of space for more work to be included in the page so that it could be more detailed when fully completed and for the home page it was good enough space to include the information about myself in the course and it fitted well in the page.
2nd February 2022: The next big change in the website design was adding more work onto the portfolio page, I found more work to include in the page and those videos were the Documentary for the Culture of Digital Age project back in my first year of the course and the Climate Change video project that was done in the Induction of the 2nd year of the course. With these videos I added two separate descriptions to the videos like I did with the first two that I included on the page, with these I talked about what the videos were originally for like how it was for a client for the Documentary project and along with that I showed off how I constructed each video and what I used to fulfill the completion of the projects as well as what Equipment was used for the production and each was different from the other as the Climate Change work was done in college and the Documentary was made at home due to reasons.
3rd February 2022: Next was the addition to more work in the portfolio section and this time it was the Advert Project and the Barbering Project and these 2 were the latest additions to the videos and with these I included their own description of how they were made, when were they made and what equipment I added and with these videos completed I positioned them so that none would overlap with the other and so that viewers could see each videos description individually, what I also did was change up the font on the Portfolio page and this was because I wanted to have a bit more detail in my website rather than just use the basic font for the names of the pages.
7th February 2022: Today I added my designs onto the Portfolio and these consist of my Logo and my business card along with a picture of both combined together into one piece of work, other designs I have constructed was my Personal Statement and my CV which were highly important to include in my Website design and with those completed I decided to check around my website before I start my showreel and I found some descriptions needed to be updated a little bit starting with the Climate Change project and by doing this I added more detail to it along with a few others so that they could be done.
8th February 2022: This was the final addition to my website as I had successfully constructed my showreel and displayed it onto the designs section as it was my own design of a showreel and I gave it its own description about when it was made just like the other projects I displayed as well as add descriptions for the other designs to make it more well described to the viewers that react to my website and with those added my website was completed and thanks to the feedback provided I was able to make some improvements and slight modifications to the site.
Feedback
The feedback I have received for this website had given me realization that there was good parts and some parts that needed to be improved on, the feedback I received was in 3 different parts and those were what the audience thought of the website as in what parts they enjoyed the most and what they liked about certain aspects, what needs to be improved on by this it means what should be improved on some parts of the website like changes and alters to certain things and finally what skills were used in the website design like with such skills for example technical skills and editing.
What the audience thought was a good example of a good aspect on the website was the layout of the design, by this they mean how the work was presented by having it spaced out and has its own text shown below, this feedback was a good start to learning more about improving layouts on my designs as well as increasing the skills I used to design the layouts, what also was suggested that was a good aspect of the website was the colour of the website, the suggestion of this was clear that how I designed it was suited to an audience, this was good because the desert like background was an improvement from what it was originally as it was more techno like and was copywrited so a change was needed and it was appreciated that the audience enjoyed the colour scheme and finally what the audience liked about the website would be that it shows the various products and this was a good feedback to receive as it shows me that I presented a right amount of work to show on my website and it also shows me that I have included detail and well designed features.
For what needed to be improved, the audience gave some good pointers in what should be changed and improved with the website such as changing the video players on the portfolio as some of the audience suggested that the videos that were disappearing but this was quickly changed because when the old design was existing there were slides that changed once clicked and this was swapped to just one so that they wouldn't disappear, what was also suggested for improvement was the changes in some of the sentences used in the website as some suggested there are some really long sentences and this could be a good change description shortages but much detail needed to be added to make sure the audience knew as much as they needed to know.
The skills used for this website that was suggested by the audience was examples such as professional practice and this could be the case because the work shown could be described as professionally discussed and mentioned when describing each work that was shown to the audience. What was also suggested as a skill was Web design and this could be why because with the good feedback shown in the what went well part, people picked out certain parts of the website and gave their reactions and how detailed each part was when investigating what part they were talking about. Finally a skill that was suggested by the audience was graphic design and this could be because of how I displayed the website design in detail when the audience reacts to the desert like background and other designs like the top part where it shows a detailed texture where it displays the other channels of the website.

Evaluation
My final thoughts on this website design is that I think it is a well produced piece of work that was worked very hard on with all the detailing and the time put into this website to make it well produced with all the designs that I included. What I think went well with this website design is the main focus of the entire product as it was well put together with all the channels with their own respected purpose and what they are specifically there for and when each channel was made I designed them all with their own details to make sure it wouldn't be too spaced out and in the end it was well produced and edited, what else I think went well with this website design would be the descriptions of the portfolio videos as they were all well described especially with the videos done for this year of the course and the last as they had the most texts used for the discussions about the work process and what happens during them.
What I think should be improved is the fonts used for the titles of the work as most were using the same font design and that could make the website look bland but the way I made them look was to make sure they didn't look the same in a way as each section had their own discussion and the font was using the bold option to make it more brighter and noticeable for the audience to react to. What else I think needs improving is the planning of the website as for the old creating of the product it was using a copywrited background and generated sections and that would have made it look like I copied the original design so that's why I made the background design the desert texture, to make it look like my own design and also to make it look like my own work which it was attached onto when the work was ongoing and by this I mean the work for the home page, portfolio and about/contact was added when the background was complete.
