Creating a Profile: Logo Design

 Existing Logo Design

These Logos are iconic because they show what history they have with the other people that either use these things, goes to these things and others, these also stand out because people see these logos very often and may have the products these companies sell in your own household. The reason why these logos have symbolizes in them is because they show their ideas in them whether it be designs or perhaps re colors of their brands or logos which can show new types of quality in their specific types of services whether it be Apple and their selling of technology, Google with its huge website searches or eBay with its online shopping and that is why logo could symbolize what the company does about their services and it shows the difference in what they do so that others don't intertwine with the other company to show no backlash by audiences or other brands. 

Prototype Design

This was my first design for my logo and it was constructed on Photopea which is a free photo editing browser and with this design I decided to go for a design that focuses more on a futuristic design so with the inclusion of the camera it made to be a good fit for media style logo, I added the glowing swirls as a nice effect for that future design and it made to be a good blend in with the purple circle as its base and it goes well with the space like background but this was later improved by my other design which has stepped up from it design base for the futuristic style, the main issues I had with this prototype design is that it looked a bit plain in some areas of the design so I wanted to include more when it was first made, other issues was the colours didn't really mix well together and that is mainly looking into the camera part where it has a odd colour combination and that wasn't how I planned it to go but that was all improved on in my full design of the logo. 

Final Design

This is my final design for the Logo as it was greatly improved on from the prototype, this was also made and constructed on Photopea with a few more features added to the design, the changes I have made to the Logo is that I have altered the colours on both the base and the camera parts to a more brighter and more contrast to the previous design, this time the colours are more blue like to fit in with the lightning effect which has a blue like purple on it, i made it so the lightning effect was going into the camera like some sort of power source which fits into the futuristic dynamic. The Background has also become more bright, showing more lighter sides than the previous design which was more darker and I thought that was a good change of pace when making this new design. 

Feedback

The feedback i have received for my logo was fairly criticised and had some good positives to the design of my logo, the starting question was what the audience liked about my design and some commented about it being very detailed in the design with all the colour combinations I did as well as what i did for the lightning effects this was a good response because it inspired me to make more futuristic designs, what the audience also liked about my design was how the design fits into the media area which was what I was mainly going for when making this design and when it was fully made and ready for the showcase and adding this design to my business card I felt like it suits fitting into the media area very well. 

For what needed to be improved, some of the audience suggested maybe adding a brand name to it which was took into consideration and when thinking about it, it seemed like a good idea for a possible redesign of the logo. What some suggested as well was a change in the colour scheme which could have worked if i knew what colours to change it to, a good colour combination would be colours like blue and purple or perhaps a different bunch of colours that would fit into the style of the design. 

Finally from what Business's would mainly look into designs like mine, a variety of business's was suggested for example companies who study under the Photography business which makes sense due to the middle part of the logo being a camera and that would normally fit right into the photography industry and community especially a business that involves that certain subject. What Business's was also suggested was film making and that one caught my eye because of how much my logo looks like a design for a movie poster or perhaps a logo for a company channel which was a good idea when thinking about it also a lot of filming style creators use designs like mine for certain things in their films like symbols, posters and titles to go along with it, this was a good comparison to that because in the future I wish to make more logos like this for many different types of creations. Finally a business that was mentioned was a graphics design company and this was a good suggestion because I have a passion for creating things such as videos and logo's so having a suggestion about a graphics design business possibly looking into this design was a good idea and would allow me to make more of these in the future.

Process of making the Logo

How the design of the logo began was with the background and finding one was simple and that was searching up a regular background and posting it onto Photopea, this design was the most unique one i could find and fitted into the design I wanted to make, next thing was choosing what to include in this design and that began with selecting a purple circle PNG online and pasting it onto the background but their was the issue of the circle being too large to fit into the main design of the logo so by going onto the tools section I found the free transform option or the resize image option and it allowed me to fully shape the purple circle into the correct size.

Next was more designing and the next option was making sure the middle part of the circle was just a blank space so my idea began searching for a camera picture and I found the image I wished to use and so I posted it onto my Logo and noticed a few things needed to be taken out of it so i used the quick selection tool to erase any unwanted parts of the image and when that was all cleared I positioned it right into the middle to that it would look more realistic and like an actual camera, after that I used the quick selection tool again to highlight the parts on the camera picture and then used the Hue/Saturation tool to alter the colours into the ones in the final design, finally I got an image of some lightning bolts and pasted the first image onto Photopea and after a quick edit using the quick selection tool i made sure there was no black boxes around the image so that it would fit into the design, next i used the duplication option to clone the lightning bolts and positioned them in different places to make a power source like design.

Evaluation

My Final thoughts about my logo is that I think it is nicely designed for a brand and that it bonds well with the Business card as well as the main idea for the design. What I think went well for this Logo design was the overall idea for the design as I wanted to go for a more futuristic design and the main inspiration was off the Arc Reactor from Iron Man and I thought I could replicate that but more so in the media image which worked well in the end in the final design, what else I thought went well was the color scheme i went with for this Logo, I used the Hue/Saturation tool to make a certain color combination like Blue, Purple and Green which I worked well especially with the lightning bolt effect. 

What I think could be improved on with my design is adding a brand name to it like the suggested comments on the feedback as that was a good idea to include something in my Logo, the brand name could have been something like the name on the business card where it was the outlined font and could be positioned under the Logo that way it could be in a better positioned in the middle of the business card design. What else I think could be improved on my Logo would be a color scheme but it isn't really a big improvement because the colors are already good enough as they are but the colors that I could replace would ones like red and yellow with a touch of blue or perhaps some more darker colors to make it look like its about to activate due to the lightning effect.
